"The Edge Is Where I Want To Be" ( Short response paragraph)

In the poem "The Edge Is Where I Want To Be" the author's viewpoint is that life would be unintresting and lame if we don't live on the edge. As the speaker say, if we loose the edge " you're dribbling along in the/ uncooked vanilla pudding of life". Now ofcoure nobody wants to live a plain or boring life like "vanilla" right? But there is a way to live an exciting life and that's on the edge. The speaker describes the edge as uncomfortable and unforgiving but it changes you. I think what the speaker is trying to say is that on the edge life is difficult but the horrible experience changes you for the better. The authour also states that " you never know what's over the edge/ and there's only one way to find /out. Well, I think the one way to find out is to live on the edge and see for yourself what it holds for you. It might have answers to some of the questions you have about life.

My Favorite Poem So Far ("Mother To Son") by Langston Hughes

My favorite poem so far is "Mother To Son" by Langston Hughes. Unlike other poems I've read, this one was very meaningful. I can actually relate this poem to my real life. Like every mother does, my mother tells me about the struggles she has faced in life all the time. That she doesn't want me to make the same mistakes she did when she was younger. This poem reminds me of those conversation I've had with her. This poem is basically about an African American mother telling her son to not give up in life no mattter what. As she says" Sometimes goin' in the dark/ Where there ain't been no light".  That life for her hasn't been no "crystal stair". Which means that her life wasn't all that fancy like "Cinderella".The mother says how she lived in poverty because she lived in a "Place with no carpets on the floor". The son is probably having some problems in his life thats why his mother is giving him advice. Telling him that she's been through it all.

Imagery Poem (I Still Love You)

I Still Love you

By: Sonam Lama (831)

I Love you so much it hurts

Making me so weak against all hope

But in your chestnut eyes I see the world

Of love and care and so much more

You’re the bright stars I see in the velvet sky because oh my love I think about you all the time.

And when the crimson snow takes its place on your jet black hair

You look like an angel sent from heaven above for sure.

I ‘m the pirate and you’re the flashy gold for no matter what I will always behold.

Oh, what have you done to this poor heart of mine?

It was already yours but you stole it just to make sure.

Now without my heart I fell so lost.

Your rosy heart has withered and it no longer yearns for me.

You have found someone better, much, much better

She is the bright turquoise sky and I’m just the filthy brown ground

But nothing will change no matter what.

For you I will always be the bright emerald leaf so full of life and joy.

You’re so happy with someone else and I am I’m satisfied because nothing’s more important to me than your million dollar smile.

But if darkness ever befalls you just remember

I am the candle who will give you light and melt myself in your eyes.

Object poem(Life Of A Tree)

The shimmiring rain
From the happiest clouds
makes me want to sing out loud
Rain is here! Rain is here
It washes away all my fears
Those hateful snow has left us alone
Now my green colors show
The wonderful fruits can grow
The golden sun can shine
and the leaves on the branches will dance to life
as the birds twitter and tweet
and my greeen beauty is everyone's treat
So as my color of of green and body of brown
can bee seen all around
My life as a tree is grateful somehow

Of Mice and Men Ch.1

So far Lennie and George have a very close relationship. They are together and George is always there for Lennie. He is more matured compared to Lennie's childish mind. Although sometimes George does end up being mean to Lennie because of his childish behaviors. Like George is small and Lennie is a man of tremendous size. You'd expect Lennie to be smarter and Geroge to be childish but it's the opposite. George tells Lennie to do the right and gives him advice. Their interview for a new job is comming up and Geroge has it all set up. Lennie is not supposed to say anything and George is going to do all the talking.
This book is very intresting so far. I find George and Linnies friendship so cute. Like Linne is like the stupid one and it's funny how a smart guy like George has to tolerate this. Unlike other people George still cares for Linnie deep inside. Even though George tells Linnie how miserable life is with him I dont think he really means it. Like when Linne gets hurt by George's words he tells George that he'll go live in the caves. Suddenly George tells Linnie that he was just foolin around and stuff like that.

Animal Farm ch.4

Many intresting happened in this chapter. Farmers started to fear the rise of animal Farm. The song "Beast Of England" was known all over. The farmers didn't want any kind of influnce over their animals regarding the rebellion against Mr. Jones. They obviously didn't want their animals to rebel against them like Mr.Jones animals did. Early in October, Mr. Jones and his men came feriously to recapture the farm. Their attempt was a failure beacuse clever Snowball and his comrades had already prepared for the expected battle. During the battle the animals fought bravely and so did the men. Only one sheep died and Snowball was merely hurt. Mr. Jones and his men were driven away but one unconcious man was left behind.

This chapter is very intresting. It had a lot of exictment and suspisions. I was startled when Mr. Jones and his men came to recaptur the farm. I mean I knew this was expected but I didn't know this event would occur so soon. I thought it would happen at the end of the book or something. Now I know why Mr. Jones and his men cant peacefull compromise with the animals regarding the current situation in Animal farm. After all no doubt Mr. Jones and the animlas both want the farm all for themselves. I dont think either Mr. Jones or the animals are ready to share the farm with eachother. Since both think they are the only rightful owner for the farm. After reading ch.4 I think the unconcious man left behind will play a major role later on in the book. Maybe he will be friends with the animals and learn secret information about them or somethin. To find the answer I guess I'll have to wait till we read ch.5.
